UV-531 (2-Hydroxy-4-n-octoxybenzophenone) is an industrial-grade UV absorber and antioxidant supplied by Sigmak for polymer, coatings, and rubber applications (product code SIG-UV-019). It is not marketed or supplied as a cosmetic or sunscreen ingredient.
A hydroxybenzophenone structure absorbs UV radiation and dissipates it thermally, protecting the base polymer/coating matrix from photodegradation; the compound shows low mobility and good compatibility within formulated systems.
